Stronger. Fitter. More capable.

Personal training in Bergen for people who want structured coaching, intelligent programming and measurable progress.

Hei! I’m Joelma

For me, fitness isn’t about chasing perfection.

It’s about becoming stronger, fitter and more capable for the life you have.

And for the life you still want to live.

I didn’t start out in fitness. My path here began after I was diagnosed with cancer for the first time. Going through that changed the way I looked at my life, my health and, ultimately, what I wanted to do with my time. It was the push I needed to change careers.

In 2017, I became a personal trainer in Lisbon. What looked like a career change was actually something much more important to me: helping people discover what their bodies were capable of, and how much stronger life can feel when you take care of yourself.

A year later, cancer came back. I went through treatment again and became a two-time cancer survivor. That experience inevitably shaped me, but I don’t want it to define everything I do. What it gave me was perspective. I know that health isn’t something to take for granted, that progress isn’t always linear, and that being strong is about much more than how much weight you can lift.

Today, I live and work in Bergen, coaching people with very different bodies, histories and goals. I love strength training, I believe in good programming, and I take my work seriously — but I also believe training should be something you enjoy, laugh through occasionally, and actually want to come back to.

How I coach

Training should be purposeful, progressive, and built around you. I combine strength training, movement quality, and practical coaching to help you become stronger, move better, and make measurable progress over time.

  • From a client: “After the pandemic crisis, I felt that I was less fit than before, and I decided to have a PT for the first time in my life. I was amazed by the quality of Joelma's work and how she made me improve. She is very competent in her work, always punctual and pleasant, and she knows what she is doing, always explaining the need for the type of exercise she advises me to do—always concerned about posture! I made a lot of progress with her; she made me believe that I was able to run again (during the pandemic crisis, I did long walks but without an increase in my heartbeat). I made a lot of progress in training muscles that I did not know were important for our stability, posture and balance.
